Different Gigs For Musicians And Singers Wanting To Work On Cruise Ships

If you’re interested in working on a cruise ship as a musician or singer, it’s important to know what positions are available and relevant to you. Please submit a detailed resume with your application in addition to online videos that showcase your musical abilities.

Showband/Orchestra Musicians (Piano/keys, Guitar, Bass, Sax, Trumpet, Trombone)

This is a position that most closely resembles what would be needed of a studio musician. It requires the ability to sightread and improvise well. You will be required to perform in a wide variety of musical styles: rock, pop, jazz, funk, Latin, etc. You’ll generally be called upon to play Broadway-style production shows, accompany headline entertainers and to perform rock and jazz sets. You’ll be playing different material each night of the cruise.

PARTY BANDS

This is a high energy position for a 4 piece band which should include at least 2 singers. You’ll be performing without the use of backing tracks covering American top 40 hits from the 1960s to today. You should have a repertoire list of at least 200 songs.

PIANO BAR ENTERTAINER

A piano bar entertainer entertainer should be the life of the party on a cruise ship. You’ll be singing and playing mainly rock and pop hits and be taking requests throughout the night. You may also be called upon to run singalong events and trivia nights and be should be ready respond to audience requests. As a piano bar entertainer, you will be remunerated with tips on top of your monthly salary. You should have a repertoire of at least 200 songs.

SOLO SINGER/GUITARISTS

We prefer our singer/guitarists to be able to perform acoustically without the aid of backing tracks. Your repertoire should encompass pop material from the 1950s to today’s hits. You should have a repertoire list of at least 200 songs.

CARIBBEAN DUO

This group consists of a steel pan player/vocalist and another talented musician performing with tracks, delivering high energy and engaging entertainment. You should have a repertoire of at least 200 songs, encompassing pop/rock hits from the 1950s to today’s hits and Caribbean repertoire.

CARIBBEAN SOLOIST

This is a position for a steel pan player performing with tracks. We also prefer it if you also sing. You should have a repertoire list of at least 200 songs, encompassing pop/rock hits from the 1950s to today’s hits and Caribbean repertoire.

STRING TRIO

Our preferred line-up is violin, viola and cello. You would be performing popular Classical repertoire mixed with show tunes and American top 40 hits from the 1960s to today. You should be able to play acoustically and may use harmonizers and loopers. Your repertoire list should be at least 175 songs.

LATIN ENSEMBLE

This may be a duo, trio or quartet and should provide an authentic Latin experience with or without tracks. There should be at least 2 singers in your group. Your repertoire list should be at least 200 songs and should cover Latin material and American top 40 hits from the 1960s to today.

COUNTRY DUO

This is a country influenced position for a duo performing country hits and American top 40 hits from the 1960s to today. You should be able to perform completely acoustically for this position but may also use tracks. Preferably one member of the duo should play play guitar and both members sing. Your repertoire list should be at least 200 songs.

RETRO POP DUO

This is a piano/vocal duo that does not use any backing tracks. Your repertoire list should be at least 200 songs covering American top 40 hits from the 1960s to today with a post modern jukebox flavor. We prefer it also if the pianist also sings.

PARTY BAND SINGER

This position is for male and female singers. Repertoire for this position covers American top 40 hits from the 1960s to today. You should already have experience performing with wedding/party bands for this position. Please submit a headshot and repertoire list with your application.

COCKTAIL PIANIST

This is a soloist position performing popular classical repertoire, showtunes and American pop hits from the 1950s to today. Your repertoire list should be at least 200 songs. You should be able to perform acoustically without tracks.

CLASSICAL GUITARIST

This is soloist position performing classical and flamenco repertoire and popular showtunes and pop tunes from the 1950s to today. Your repertoire list should be at least 200 songs. You should be able to perform acoustically without tracks.

PRODUCTION SINGERS WHO DANCE

You should ideally have a background in musical theatre for this position. You will be performing in the production shows onboard. Please submityour headshot, photos and online performance reel for this position.
